Frs. Ino Cueto,CSsR and Joey Echano, CSsR. celebrated the 25th anniversary of their profession as Redemptorist last May 12, 2012.  Since that day fell on a Wednesday, Frs. Ino and Joey decided to hold the celebration on the 19th which was a Saturday.

The theme chosen for the celebration was the motto of the Redemptorist: "In Jesus the Lord is overflowing redemption."

The celebration began with a concelebrated mass at 4:00 pm at the National Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help in Baclaran.  24 priests concelebrated in the mass and a good number of people participated in the Eucharist which were from the families, friends, relatives, lay and religious mission partners of the two fathers.

Fr. Ino presided the mass while Fr. Joey delivered the homily.  In his homily, Fr. Joey reiterated God's faithfulnees despite their frailties and unfaithfulness.  The one thing that he has learned during the 25 years of his profession, Fr. Joey added, was that he had grown more of a lover.  Becoming a lover was a paltry sharing in God's overflowing love for all creation.  Thus, 25 years is just a small part in the continuous journey of living and sharing in God's unconditional love.  There is more and the best is yet to come!

After the Eucharist, the assembly went to the backyard of the Redemptorist convent for a sumptous meal.  While they were having a meal, a lively program was going on.  During the program stories, songs and music were shared by the families and friends of Frs. Ino and Joey.  The program could have gone into the night if not for the heavy downpour at around 9:00 pm which put an abrupt halt to the festivities.  However, a few intimate friends, relatives and confreres stayed and went to the rooftop of the convent for the continuation of the celebrations.

Ad multos annos!
